History, spirituality and faith: 5 years since the construction of the St. Nicholas Church

Today marks 5 years since the beginning of the construction of the St. Nicholas Temple Complex in the village of Deymanivka, Pyryatinsky District, Poltava Region.

The impetus for the birth of a large Orthodox church was the construction of a chapel on the site of the wooden church of St. Nicholas, built in 1746 in the village of Deymanivka. On December 19, 2011, on the feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the chapel was consecrated.

Four years later, Oleg Sleptsov, the honored architect of Ukraine and developer of the project of the temple complex, visited Istanbul, where he met with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople. The architect presented the future project of the St. Nicholas complex to the Patriarch and received his blessing. On August 2, 2014, the first foundation for the construction of the St. Nicholas Temple complex was poured on the site of the chapel.

Today, the Saint Nicholas Church impresses with its beauty and grandeur. A bell tower, an amphitheater for solemn events, a children's playground, a chapel and a memorial to fallen soldiers - part of all this can be seen already now, at this stage of construction, which continues every day in winter and summer. Each brick is laid with great faith and love.

But, of course, the most important thing is the St. Nicholas Church, for the past five years it has become a place of prayer, solemn services and blessings of many Orthodox believers who make up its strong and friendly community, and in the future will be a native home for its parishioners.

The construction of the temple complex in Deymanivka is a noble cause, which was started by Charitable Organization «Charitable Foundation named after Khidiryana Oganesa Misakovycha» and patron of the foundation - Khidiryan Misak Oganesovych.
