The St. Nicholas Feast is the most sought-after day of the year for children. This day, in the morning, each child expects to find his or her gift under the pillow even despite the parents’ warning about the punishing twig for the naughty ones. St. Nicholas loves kids so everyone gets his or her ‘Nikolaichiki’ gifts.

In the evening of December 18, 2017, the third-grader Dima and his mother Oksana Aranchiy from Pyryatyn town had guests. Nadezhda Mylenko, the Chairman of the trade union of the Pyryatinsky National Park in which the hero worked, and Ivan Bohomol, the Director of “Pyryatynsky Delikatesy” LLC, came to visit the family of Maxim Aranchiy, who deceased in the first days of the conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014.

The National Park representatives traditionally presented Dima with a sweet ‘Nikolaichik’ gift and a New Year tree. And a local manufacturer presented to the boy and his mother a big set of frozen semi-finished products.

Yet, the wonders weren’t over! The Misak Khidiryan’s Charitable Foundation presented the solders’ son with a set of office supplies and personal hygiene products. Dima’s mother received a set of hygiene products.

Hero’s brave son sincerely rejoiced at the gifts and recited a poem about St. Nicholas as a holiday greeting to the guests.
