St. Nicholas festivities for the children of the fallen ATO servicemen

24 Aug 2017 Unique projects

These days, there are lots of families that are touched by war. Many of them still live and feel its cold breath. War takes lives without regret, deprives of the most valuable, and shatters the inner world of a person. The worst thing is that thousands of children became witnesses this insane war, suffered psychological trauma, and lost their fathers and defenders.

The imprint of war will forever remain in the orphans’ hearts, but the Oganes Khidiryan’s Charitable Foundation, with faith and hope, seeks to mitigate their pain of loss, and help overcome the spiritual emptiness.

We were all once children and we know that the St. Nicholas Feast is a favorite holiday among kids. Every child waits his or her miracle to come. This day, the Foundation’s employees visited the children from the Pyryatyn area whose fathers died during the hostilities in the Donbass Region. The kids received bicycles, sets of sweets with toys and delicious “Smacom”TM products of the “Pyryatynsky Delikatesy” company. The philanthropists visited also the school in Novi Martynovychi and presented the children with a valuable gift – a computer.

We are very happy that we managed to fill the children’s lives with joy and give them a piece of our hearts. Isn’t it a wonder to see the happy eyes of a child? To watch them smiling? This is the most valuable reward that gives us strength, opportunities and the willingness to do good.

At the moment, the Oganes Khidiryan’s Charitable Foundation has taken custody of the family of Aranchiy Maksym, a serviceman of the 27th rocket artillery brigade (Sumy city), who gave his life on April 13, 2014 in Dolgopolovka village of Romny area in Sumy region during the relocation of a military unit. Maksym is survived by his wife Oksana and son Dima.
